Privacy Policy

Tribes: Private Communities · Effective July 17, 2026

Tribes ("we," "us") is a private community app for creatives. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Tribes iOS app and the tribes.network website.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

Information collected automatically:

Purchase information: subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive subscription status (active, expired, refunded) from Apple to unlock Pro features, along with an anonymous transaction identifier. We never receive your payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

3. What Other Members Can See

Your profile (name, username, photo, bio, roles, approximate location if provided, and public activity) is visible to other signed-in members. Direct messages are visible only to conversation participants. Private projects and moodboards are visible only to you and collaborators you add. If you subscribe to Pro, a verified badge is displayed on your profile.

4. Service Providers

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run Tribes. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete Account. Deletion removes your account and personal data from our systems; some content may persist briefly in backups before being purged, and we may retain limited records where required by law (for example, records related to safety reports).

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app (editing your profile, deleting content, deleting your account). For anything else, contact us at the address below and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

7. Children

Tribes is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will delete it.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Access to member data is restricted by server-side security rules, and privileged operations (such as subscription status) are handled only by our servers, never by the client app.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced in the app. The effective date at the top reflects the latest revision, and continued use of Tribes after a change constitutes acceptance.
